The title of this blog post is a phrase that I have been saying to myself a lot as of late as I find myself informing God of things that I feel He should be doing in my life. As you may or may not know two months ago I made a relatively large change in my life. After feeling God’s leading in my life to move on from the ministry at the Church I had been serving at for 3 years I moved to Michigan to pursue a career in Christian Camping! I found an opportunity to learn from one of the leaders in the field of Christian Camping and looked for a job within his camp. Ironically I was offered the position as their breakfast cook for the summer with the opportunity to meet with Steve Prudhomme every other week to discuss Camp ministry trends and ideas for future growth within my personal life. So for the past two weeks I have been cleaning dishes cooking a mass amount of GFS food and talking with about 5 people per day. You can imagine this is quite a change from overseeing 4 ministries and weekly discipling a number of different youth and college students. Regardless of the changes in my day to day life I know that one thing will never change and that is God’s calling in my life to be faithful in everything that I do to glorify Him.
So my prayer and desire is that when I’m providing the basic human needs at this camp in order that those who I’m feeding will be able to hear the power of God’s love that I will do so with a pure motivation to serve my God. Too often I find myself trying to please and please the people around me but I need to remember the reason I am cooking this Summer is because this is where God has me and God’s timing is always perfect!
